This style represents the standard melee combat training of police officers in Vastellia. Unlike most police services, Vastellian Police uniquely uses superfine edged rapiers (along with their sheaths), all of them custom-fitted to the officer's hands, instead of electric stun wands, making it a very distinctive style.

Training is heavily based on the use-of-force continuum, officers using their presence and verbal commands to make suspects surrender, with non-compliance prompting the use of grappling techniques (with empty hands or a sheathed rapier) in order to apply handcuffs, and the suspect's use of less-lethal force (such as punches or stun guns) prompting the use of electrolasers and strikes with bare hands and sheathed rapiers (converting any cutting or impaling damage to crushing). Lethal force (usually by stabbing and cutting with the rapier) is only permitted if the suspect uses lethal weapons (such as knives, guns, or heavy tools), and it's still preferred to take them alive.

When fighting unarmed, the officer typically tries to grapple the suspect, take them down with a Judo Throw, then disarm them (usually after an Arm Lock) and apply handcuffs. If permitted by the use-of-force continuum, strikes can also be mixed in to subdue the suspect. With a rapier, meanwhile, heavy emphasis is put on disarming suspects or using well-placed strikes to stun or disable limbs, then either transitioning to grappling, or intimidating the suspect into surrender. Teamwork is also heavily emphasized, with officers piling on suspects in order to take them down

Although Vastellia is too small and safe of a country to have much in the way of exaggerations about the local police, some myths still get spread (mainly by foreigners, but also in local movies), such as pressure-point attacks, a spinning rapier strike that disarms every enemy, or a shout for compliance that stops the suspect in their tracks
